Interview with Cedo Nulli’s Treasurer
Who are you and what position in the board do you have?
I’m Tika, the treasurer of the 31st board.
Can you describe what your position does?
As the Treasurer you’re responsible for the finances of the association. I am updated on everything which has to do with money. I am responsible for the contributions and every month I do the accountancy of the association. Besides that, at the beginning of the year I made a budget for the whole association and I guide the Treasurers of all the committees with their budget.
What is the best part of your position?
The most fun part is that I am updated on almost everything because most things involve money in the end, and I approve the payments and/or purchases made by a committee. As a board supervisor, I only supervise the Activities Committee and NMUN, but I know the state of affairs of other committees and projects as well. Even though most students find numbers boring, secretly I enjoy making budgets.
How do you experience being a board supervisor of committees?
As mentioned, I only supervise one committee which is the Activities Committee. I really enjoy my role as a board supervisor, especially as a ‘change of scenery’ from my other tasks. I also enjoy organising activities with the committee. The ski trip was, up until now, the best part of it all. Besides the Activities Committee, I also supervise NMUN, which is seen as a project. The organisational part is a real challenge, for instance organising the whole trip to the USA. The fun part is that I do this together with my fellow board member Kim.
Is being on the board what you expected of it, and why?
The board year lives up to my expectations, and most of the time it’s even better. You go for the full 100% for the association. The Cedo Office feels a bit like my own living room. I’m more at the office than I am at home. The best part is that you don’t do it alone but with a team. Therefore I am very happy with my fellow board members. You go through a lot together, you see each other every day. But it’s not only working hard together, but we also go to lots of drinks and parties and have dinner as well. I must say, the Spar and Foodplaza I know a little bit too well now.
